Staffilino at St. Martins Ferry Ohio

These were taken at Staffilino Chevrolet Inc.  Dealership in St. Martins Ferry, Ohio when we bought our Chrysler Town and Country Van a couple of weeks ago.  Staffilino is the Ohio Valley's oldest Chevrolet Dealer.

Photo

I honestly did not think that we are going to buy the van that day.  This is one of those  major purchase that I really don't want to but I agreed because it is needed.  I guess, I just have to shake off this feeling  of stress of having a monthly  car loan payment starting   tomorrow.  Aside from that, the stress comes from the fact that I have to drive the van and I hate driving.  I am not comfortable and totally not confident  driving on the road.  Oh Boy!

Visiting our Beautiful Islands in the Philippines

The Philippines have everything – scenery, beaches, nature, shopping and mountains. There really is something for everyone!

Before I take my flight to the Philippines, I like to stay in an airport hotel. This means you’re relaxed enough to take it slowly and still make your flight, while ensuring a good night’s sleep beforehand.

Some say the best way to see the Philippines is by boat but in my opinion getting around by bicycle allows you to take in the islands at their best. Bike rental is plentiful and cheap no matter where you choose to stay.

There are several options in the Philippines and they all have their own unique offerings.

Cebu

Cebu has something for everyone, from a family day trip to Olango Island bird sanctuary; to the mountain of Guba for hardcore bikers. Climb the foot of Mount Manunggal, with such steep inclines that even a four wheel drive would struggle to navigate. Style savvy and on-trend, this is a hot spot to visit.

Bohol

Hang out in Loboc and hike or bike down its muddy scenic trails, or explore the challenging mountain bike rides up to Cruz Daku.

Manila

Shops are open from morning to late at night and in the bigger cities such as Manila you’ll find a whole host of trendy bars and restaurants catering to the younger crowd. Try some of the local dishes; a personal favourite is the delicious fresh mango. The cost of living is much lower than in the UK and you’ll find alcohol is much less expensive along with fresh crustaceans sold by the kilo if you fancy cooking back at your beach residence.

Resorts World in Pasay City is ideal for the high rollers with flash cars, all night casinos and the glitterati on every doorstep.

I like to sample everything on a trip to the Philippines – and believe me, there’s a lot to sample.

Alamo Landmark

One of the shots that I quickly snapped when we went to Alamo.  I am not sure what is the story behind this so if you know what it is, you may share it thru your comment.  Exploring the  Alamo was a great experience for all of us.  I just wish that we could have done it  in a cool day  as it was  very hot that day.

Web-to-Print

I  wasn't able to  take  advantage of the  promo that I was offered to from a photo printing company  where I always order my photos.  Now I wonder  if  that  specific company  ever browse for the websites for printers that they use in the business?  I like it when I   can avail the  promo that they give to customers because you can really save money in ordering your printing stuff.  This web-to-print solution  is a great  way for printing companies to offer a more affordable services to their clients.

American Road Trip

I bought this Air Freshner when we arrived from our vacation to freshen up the  smell of our home.I find it so interesting that when you are at home, you don't notice what your house smells  like and then when you go away for certain period of time and you come back, that's when you notice the  difference.  It's not that  our house smells bad, I just want something that smells like nature.

I don't know where Appalachian Trail is but I have a good idea how it smells like out there through  this American Road Trip Collection.  So that's my kind of travel for today, wink.

Music Instrument

I was looking at the selection of the yamaha saxophone at wwbw and it  reminds me of street parade during fiesta at our  town.  I always admire  those  individuals who can use this   music instrument really well.  I remember the days when I was in high school, every time there is an important  school event, the  Drum and Bugle Corps at our school would   participate and I always wanted to  be parted of it but couldn't   because I did not have money to buy  the outfit/uniform  and the instrument.  I always wanted to  play the  xylophone then but  never had a chance.

The Torch of Friendship In San Antonio, Texas

This image isn't mine
When we went for a boat ride at  the River Walk    in San Antonio, the tour guide    said that this   is called the Torch of Friendship.  This torch of friendship was given by the Mexican Consulate to San Antonio as a sign of friendship and to represent the roots many Texans shared with Mexico.

The contemporary steel sculpture was made in Mexico and shipped to San Antonio in six pieces. It stands 65 feet tall and weighs 50 tons. It was commissioned to commemorate the relationship between the United States and Mexico and the two countries' increasing commercial ties. Urban monumental sculptor Sebastian was commissioned at the request of the Association of Mexican Entrepreneurs of San Antonio to design the sculpture. Info  credits to waymaking.com

Bathroom Renovation

When my husband  built a new  bathroom at our basement, he did not  hire  a plumber to cut cost.  He  doesn't like plumbing work nor has the   professional knowledge to   do it but he watched  videos online on how to do it.  Somehow, he  did not put the piping right so now it is causing problem.  He wants to  redo it again which  would mean that he has to  removed all the flooring from the shower room, poor hubby.  I am  not sure if he can do it alone but I have faith in him.  It would be better if we could afford  to hire the bathroom renovations west chester pa so he doesn't have to do it by himself.

Part of me wants to keep our house but another part of me is agreeing to hubby's suggestion to just sell this one and find the one that doesn't have any repairing to do.  I  am just praying that this summer, our  Air conditioning unit won't  give us problem just like what happened last year.   If that happen, we might have to ask a professional like hvac west chester pa to do it  for us because  there is no way around it.  We were lucky  that we asked our neighbor's son to check on our aircon problem last year as he saved us   big bucks by showing us how to fix the problem.  Eventually though, will need to   buy a new unit since the one we have is getting so old.

Happy Father's Day!

Originally posted  on March 17, 2013 when we took our children to the park.  We dropped by at my  FIL first before heading to the park and we asked him if he wants to go.  He went with us and we all had fun watching our Burritos play tennis.  I am glad that the snow is all melted  now.

Happy Father's day to all the Das out there especially to my  loving father-in-law and my  husband.

"The Best Way to get to London"

Lots of people, both those from Britain and foreign tourists, will want to get to London at some point. Whether it's for work, for a fun weekend away or to see all the sights, London is undoubtedly one of the most popular destinations in the country for all sorts of reasons. Whether you need to get to London for an important business meeting or simply to go marvel at Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, what mode of transport should you consider taking?

One of the first modes of transport to spring to mind is the train. The good news is that all of the major cities in England have direct train routes to London. This makes it extremely easy to get in and out of the capital, and this is often one of the fastest ways to get into the city. However, the drawback is that trains in the UK can be very expensive, and if you're coming from a smaller town you might find that you need to make several changes. The trains can sometimes be a little unreliable too, which might make you late.

Another option is to hire a coach if there is a group of you looking to go to London. Once the cost of hire has been split between everyone, it works out as one of the cheapest ways to travel. Plus, it means you can be dropped off exactly where you need to go, and the coach can often wait for your group to leave its destination so that you can take it to the next spot without having to spend a long time hunting it down again once you've left. This also means you're guaranteed a seat even at peak times, whereas on a busy train this might not be the case.

If you're driving, be aware that there is a congestion charge if you drive into central London. This means that driving is better if you are heading somewhere outside the centre so you can avoid this charge, though the congestion charge doesn't apply at weekends. Also, parking in London can be expensive and isn't always easy to come by, so be aware that it might take you a while to find somewhere to park in the most popular spots. Traffic can also be a nightmare on the central roads and the routes in and out of the city, so if possible, try to travel outside of peak hours.

What Should I Wear for Cycling?

If you're new to cycling, it can be tricky to know exactly what you should wear. Cycling isn't like other sports where general 'sportswear' will suffice. Instead, it is far better to buy some specialist cyclewear for the best sporting performance and your own comfort. But what exactly does 'cyclewear' entail, and how do you make sure you still look great?

Firstly, the general rule is 'the tighter the better'. This is because loose fabrics make you less streamlined and can slow you down, and particularly in the case of loose sports trousers, fabric can become caught up in the spokes of the wheels or in the pedals which can be extremely dangerous. Also look out for long cords hanging down from trousers as this can pose the same issue. Ideally, you'll go for tight cycle shorts, or women might like to go for leggings. This keeps you more streamlined so you can pick up more speed.

In terms of tops, cycle jerseys are your best bet. You can find men's cycle jerseys and women's cycle jerseys in a vast range of designs, from the plain to the quirky, so you don't need to settle for something generic. It is important to buy the right jersey for your sex, as they are made to fit each respective body type, so you will get the right fit for comfort.

When it comes to shoes, you want something sturdy but flexible. This is because a completely solid sole won't move comfortably on the pedal, so something which bends a little might be a better idea. Find shoelaces that won't keep coming undone, as this can also be a risk if they get stuck in the wheels as you won't be able to stop with your feet efficiently.

If you are taking a bag, make it a backpack . Anything else will get in the way. If possible, opt for one which straps across your torso between the shoulder straps to make sure it sits securely and doesn't move around while you're on the move. Don't put too many things in this as it may become too heavy and unbalance you. Water and an emergency first aid kid, along with a torch and a map, are the essential pieces of kit.

Make sure you wear sunglasses if it is particularly bright to help you see. This will help to prevent any collisions or accidents caused by the brightness, so make sure they block the sun sufficiently so that you can cycle safely.

Family Fun Times

When my husband arrived yesterday, we  visited Dad  and  talked ti him fr about an hour.  He got cut on his leg and on his arm as he tried to  weed whack his  grass.  He can't really see good now but he doesn't want to just sit inside the house. He constantly go outside and work on his yard.  For  his age (almost 91), he is  doing pretty good.

Man Made Gemstones

A diamond may be a girl’s best friend but a moissanite jewel may well become a girl’s best friend forever. Originally discovered in a meteorite by Henri Moissan, a natural occurring moissanite gem is extremely rare. It is so rare that when found the particles of moissanite are too small for use to craft any item of jewelry. After many years of research and trial and error to reproduce the natural substance a high tech process was found to replicate a new type of simulated diamond. Charles & Colvard hold an exclusive patent to the creation of the lab created silicon carbide formula that results in the dazzling brilliance of a moissanite gem with characteristics similar to a diamond.

The moissanite man made gemstones even have a hardness of 9.25 as measured on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. This puts it closer to the 10 of a diamond’s hardness than even a ruby or sapphire. The myriad of sparkling jolts of light emitted by moissanite are reminiscent of a thousand twinkling stars flashing through a thousand prisms. Inspired by the ancient meteorites falling from the heavens, the star you put on her hand will be reflected by the stars in her eyes.

The Tenderness of Wolves

This is what I am currently reading.  I decided to go back to reading although not as much as I would like to though.  Just when I can  find time.  I just started but it is already getting  interesting.   Each day, my kids and I  devote  time to read especially when it's too hot to play outside.

I am just on the second chapter and it's getting intense.  I wish I have time to  type  the summary so you'll have an idea of what the story is about but I am just sneaking out while my kids are doing the Math problem I assigned to them, wink.

Kids n Pets Stain and Odor Remover

I bought  a stain and odor remover the other  day because the kids spilled some  coloring stuff in the carpet.  I chose this Kids n' Pets because it permanently eliminates stains and odors, including pet urine.  Although our dogs are complete house broken, their constant trip in and out of the house  can accumulate odor in the carpet.  Another reason that I chose this specific product is because  it is non-toxic, its biodegradable, its  safe to use, and it has a natural  citrus scent.  We are very selective when it comes to buying  cleaning products because we have two kids and two dogs  to take care of.  We have to make sure that they are safe both for us and the fur babies.
Based from my experience, this product really works, I sprayed it on the stained part and  let it soaked for about 10 minutes and when I came back, the stain is gone  Hubby also   steamed our carpet  the next day so now our carpet smells good and it looks brand new.  This kind of of products are similar to the products that Green Choice uses.  You can Get more info here if you are looking for a  company  that offers rug and carpet cleaning services.  They are having a special discount right now, you can avail a  15% discount on  rug, couch, mattress, and carpet cleaning.

Tips for Saving Money on Your Car’s Running Costs

There are many ways that you can start to save money on day to day expenses, and your car’s running costs is definitely a great place to start. From maintenance and servicing to petrol and consumables, cars demand a fairly large proportion of your weekly budget. Here are some top tips for saving money on your car’s running costs.

Stay on Top of Servicing

You can make a huge difference to your car running costs simply by staying on top of your servicing schedule. Always do routine checks of your fluid levels and tyre wear, as this can save you a lot of money in the long run. By keeping your tyres fitted and balanced, you reduce your fuel costs, and by topping up your fluids your engine is destined to work more efficiently. Make sure you stick to the recommended service intervals, and don’t be tempted to skip them or put it off. Timely servicing ensures the health of your car, and allows the mechanic to pick up on any potential problems before they become more expensive issues.

Find the Right Mechanic

It’s important to find a mechanic you can trust, not only to carry out quality work on your car, but to be fair with their pricing as well. Search online to read customer reviews and testimonials, and make sure that the mechanic you choose is appropriately certified. Getting the work done properly the first time will save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, and will give you the peace of mind that your car is safe and in good working order.

Adapt Your Driving Style

Believe it or not, the way you drive could be adding hundreds to the cost of running your car. To start noticing significant savings when it comes to fuel, try this simple trick. Drive as smoothly as you can, keeping your car in the optimum rev range at all times. By accelerating slowly and smoothly and using the same principle for braking, you will dramatically decrease your car’s fuel consumption.

Still Struggling?

If you find that it’s all getting a bit too much, and routine repairs on your car have become a financial nightmare, it’s time to get some professional help. Agencies such as Fox Symes debt solutions have been providing quality advice to thousands of Australians every year, and helping them to get back on track. All it takes is a simple phone call, and you can be well on your way to enjoying financial freedom once more.
These simple tips might not sound like much, but they can make a huge impact on the cost of running your car. Try it for yourself, and see the savings you can enjoy when you keep these top tips in mind! Remember if you’re still having trouble with your weekly budget or are getting knocked around by big car bills, chat to the team at Fox Symes for some friendly financial advice to get you out of trouble.

Work and Ideas

According to Darcie King of  E Video Productions,  you have to own your work and ideas .  Stand tall and be proud.  Success breed success.

It is like taking responsibility of  the actions that you make no matter what the outcome is.

June Bride

When I was growing up, I always heard women talking about their wishes  to be a June Bride.  I often wondered  what is the fascination of becoming one where in fact you can get married in any months right?  Then  I read  this article about the history of June wedding that says that in  Roman times,  Romans celebrates a festival in honor of the deity Juno, the  wife of Jupiter and the goddess of of marriage and childbirth.  I am not sure if diamond engagement rings was a thing then but I do imagine that they do give   symbolic rings to celebrate  weddings and engagements.
