Chopped Down the Apple Tree

Last weekend, I encouraged my  husband for us to chop off the dead tree from our backyard as the bird's keep  dropping their waste in my garden.  I hate to take it away fro them but I want abird-poop-free garden.  I am very thankful to our neighbor who helped us  in taking down the three.  He also gave us  a rope that  looks like the ones  you can  get for buyheatshrink's selection.  I am glad it is done as it was driving me crazy.  I must say though that it looks naked now in our back yard lol.  Here are some photos  took.

I am also glad that one of our neighbors   took most of the  branches for their fire pit wood.  Thanks again Don for helping us out!

  1. If it was truly dead then you were wise to take it down-it was awfully close to your house. However--bird poop is part of living anywhere--even in the city--now you won't hear the chirping birds anymore--how sad.

    1. Oh we still have the chirping of the birds as we have other trees at our backyard. That was just one that we took down. In fact, robins and sparrows love nesting at our patio so yeah, the birds are pretty much around us.

  2. Such a nice neighbor! I like living and seeing green in my surroundings, but during fall, I dread having to sweep the dead leaves on the ground.

  3. Dead trees down here is a hang out for ants and termites. In a storm it may have took down your nice fence. Glad that you got that out of your way. I see you still have trees for the birdies.

    1. You are right on the money Sherrie, I forgot to mentioned that the tree has a termite house in the middle of it that's why I was glad that we took it down. I think that was the reason why it died, the termites took over the life of the apple tree.

  5. if the tree was dead no biggie it should come down since its so close to the house it could do real damage if for some reason it fell over
