Ultimate Survival Alaska

Oh how I wish I could find a n affordable provider for Cable, Internet, and phone because right now, our bill is  so  is getting  so expensive when combined.  One  of the features that my husband  loves about the  Satellite  connection that we have is the  availability of the on-demand movies, television programs, music, sporting events, and the fact that you can record the shows that you want to watch later on.  I think that all of these are available also with   Time Warner Cable at a lesser price.  The only problem is that, their services is not offered in the area where I live.  I think that the Time Warner triple play is one great deal.  Lucky are those who can avail for their services as they can really save money on three package deal that  they have.

On the other note, we watched the final episode of the  Ultimate Survival Alaska from National Geographic Channel.  The show is about  four teams of survivalists from across the nation who went head to head in an  epic arctic competition where they were dropped in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness by a bush planes.  They have to navigate through the most treacherous glaciated river valleys, barren ridgelines, and high mountain peaks.  The four teams  were:

  • woodsmen
  • mountaineers
  • military veterans
  • endurance athletes
The teams die-hard ingenuity and the gear on their backs they were able to  battle hunger, hostile predators, and perilous weather conditions along the way. They faced  near-death situations but they managed to get through it all.  Some were  disqualified due to injuries  but it was really a really good show to watch.  We were  rooting for the military veterans to win but because one of their  team member was  disqualified, it was hard for them to get  back to their winning streak. The endurance athletes ended up winning.  I admire all the  survivalists ingenuity, their  well-fought pride of having conquered the grueling challenges that Mother Nature can throw at them is very compelling. It was  an epic competition series where the only prize is survival.  Here is a photo of our favorite team, the Military Veterans.
