Five Creative Ideas for Breakfast in Bed

There’s something so enticing about breakfast in bed. On the days when we actually have time to lounge around, no work to do, no classes to go to, breakfast in bed can be the perfect start to the day. Or, for someone’s birthday, making them breakfast without them even needing to get out of bed can be a wonderful way to surprise them. Are you looking for a new dish to enjoy in bed? Something a bit more creative? Here are five breakfasts to help you start your morning.

Savoury Pancakes

Everybody loves pancakes, and making them savory gives the dish a real twist. There are so many options to choose from. Mushroom, ricotta, spinach – anything. A favorite savory pancake is Chinese spring onion. Simply add some peanut oil, spring onion and soy sauce to a savory pancake batter.

Eggs Baked in Avocado

Delicious, easy and gourmet, this breakfast is the perfect way to make someone’s morning. Scoop out the seed of an avocado, and crack an egg into the pit. Then, bake until the egg is cooked to your liking. The egg cooks into the avocado to create a truly delectable flavour.

Japanese Crepes

Why not try making your crepes the Japanese way? These are sold all over Tokyo, as an appetizing and affordable meal for young people. The crepes are twisted into a cone shape, similar to an ice-cream, and stuffed with different kinds of fillings. Experiment with you crepes and see which pleases and which don’t. This can be the perfect breakfast for someone with a sweet tooth.

Baked Ricotta

Another wonderful dish for someone’s special day, baked ricotta is easy to prepare, but emits an air of the gourmet. Simply mix up your ricotta with some egg, and any flavors or herbs you desire. Chives, and parsley make a good combination. Then, pop it in the oven for an hour. If you’re a fan of ricotta, this is the ultimate breakfast for you.

Muffins

There’s nothing like waking up to the scent of freshly baked muffins. If you really want to surprise someone, bake them a batch of these. You can go with savory or sweet. Banana makes for a wonderful morning muffin, but if you’re on the savory side, try cheese and herb. Mix up some ricotta, tasty cheese and parmesan with some spinach and/or chives for the perfect savory muffin. Be sure to serve them straight out of the oven.
These mouth-watering breakfasts will have you starting your day in the right frame of mind. If only you could wake up to such a delectable dish every day. To ensure your morning is full of energy, make sure you’re sleeping on the right mattress, as well as having the right breakfast.
