Help your child be Math Confident

Math is one one of my favorite subjects in Elementary and High school but when I was in college and grad school, I didn't like it anymore... its too complicated lol. My husband is very good with Math and I guess Rylie inherit that from him. Math is one of Rylie's favorite thing to learn. She knows Addition well and last month, I introduce her to subtraction.

To make it easier for her. I wrote the numbers and I let her figure out the answer by making her draw some objects that represents the number and from there she could figure out the difference. She did really good on our first session.
Below is a photo and a parenting tip article from parent.com that could come in handy for you and your child.
Does your child like math just as much as Brussels sprouts? If math doesn’t come easy to your little one, there are ways to help without hiring a tutor. Browse through our selection of practical math tips to find ones perfectly suited for your young one’s tastes and interests. Soon, he might not even realize he just learned to add using apples from your fridge!

Weight Loss Pills

Are you still struggling to lose weight and finding the best weight loss pills seems impossible? Whenever I see people who seems to have a hard time moving because of weight problem, I always put myself on their shoes and think of how I will feel If I were them. I am sure that it's a hard battle to overcome especially if the weight loss pills that they are taking is not working. I know that it is easy for me to say this because I am skinny but I guess if I have a weight problem, I would really give my best to exercise and watch my diet. This is just my personal opinion, how about you?

One-a-day Vitamin

Did you guys ever took one a day vitamin? I used to take it when I was still in the Philippines, right before I got pregnant. My husband sent me a bottle of those and I liked it. I never really pay attention to vitamin supplement when I was single so I don't have much awareness about it. I did not know before that there are several kinds of One-a-day vitamins. Now I know because I read some interesting reviews about them online.

In the mood... for a shoot!

There are times that I want to take a picture of my son but he would just run away or hide his face. So when he is in the mood for a shoot, I don't waste my time lol. The other day, while I was busy with my online tasks, he climbed into my chair and was hugging me.. Then he said "take a picture of me Mommy!" I hurried up and grab my camera and take a snap. He moved so it was blurry.
Take two: I told him not to move.. and here it is..
Have a lovely Thursday everyone. It's exactly 1 am and I am still awake, trying to blog lol. But after this post, I am hitting the bed. Goodnyt!

Geothermal Cooling System

My husband was bummed out when he woke up this morning because he was disturbed by our air conditioning unit last unit which ran the whole night but it only got to 72 degrees. He called the guy who checked this the last time but he did not answer the phone. That of course made him disappointed about that cooling and heating place. He mentioned about the geothermal air conditioning being offered in Phoenix Arizona.

He was looking for the number of that person online and one of the links that popped up is the energy efficient geothermal cooling. He said that it is the best way to go, if only the place is near us. GeOasis offer the most energy efficient and earth friendly geothermal systems around Arizona. For me personally, with the high cost of the electric and gas at the present, GeOasis cooling and heating system seems to be the most practical and the best way to have especially this summer time. It could save you some dollars and it is also friendly to our mother earth. This is what customers need, a cooling and heating system that won't contribute to the pollution and would also saves money in the long run.

Graduation Party

Hello everyone, we're off to a graduation party of a friend's son. congratulations Ross and good luck on your journey to college life. This is my first time to attend a graduation party here in the States, a friend told mwe that all you need to bring is an envelope with a cash gift on it.. wish we have this kind of practice in the Phils lol..

Search and Download

I got scared last night when I downloaded the video/slide show that a friend sent me through email. My computer froze up and for about five minutes, I wasn't able to do anything but wait.

One of the things that I find hard dealing with in my pc is doing pdf search and download. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it won't. I have to sue different browser because other applications are not compatible with Google Chrome and some aren't compatible with Firefox either. Other times, only Internet Explorer is my only choice but it is taking me so long to make one transaction which is time consuming.

Speaking of pdf search, hubby will go back to school next month which means that he would do a lot of assignments and activities that involves downloads of documents and stuff. He uses his free allotment in the school library in downloading stuff because his PC also doesn't work with it.

lOOk Out!

Be careful when using restroom tissues as you may not see bugs like this one. I used the restroom of one of the establishment that i visited and this is what I saw when I looked on the roll of tissue. So lOOk out!

Affordable Insurance

If you are looking for an affordable insurance, be sure to compare multiple quotes from different company insurance providers so that you would be able to find the most cheap insurance that has a good coverage. One thing that I like here in the States is the easiness of finding out what you are looking for. It is very easy because almost all the businesses are accessible online. Another advantage is that, they offer free quotes which you can request by filling out simple online forms.

Garden Gnomes: Who Took them?

I was taking some photos of my dianthus yesterday when I noticed that my two garden gnomes were gone. I was like "Where did my gnomes go?" I asked the kids if they take it even if I know that they won't play with it and they said no.
Yup, those were my garden gnomes that was stolen by whoever wants to beautify their yard. I took the above photo last week. I never thought that that would be the last picture of my garden with them.
I have several color of dianthus, I love them because not only they are gorgeous, they also comes back every year.

To the thief: I hope that your garden will look pretty with the gnomes that you stole from me.

Speaking of thief, my FIL got robbed by the people that he helped with and gave shelter and food for a couple of days. After asking for money, they still had the nerve to stole one of my FIL's precious collection.

What is wrong with people these days? You tried to help them and everything and still, its not enough and will still rob you. Goodness sakes! We're just glad that they did not hurt Dad. The thieves took advantage of Dad's generosity and kindness.

Wrinkle Cream that Works

The market is flooded with so many wrinkle cream products. It would be hard for consumers to choose wrinkle cream that works with so many options to choose from. To make it easier for you, make a research before you buy anything to make sure that you are getting back of what you will pay for. I haven't tried any of this product yet, maybe in time. But for now, I am contented of how my physical appearance reflect on my age.

Warm Weather

This week will be a great week for outdoors. According to the weather channel online, we will have all week-long of warm weather. hat would be nice because last week was crazy, rainy, cold, and just crazy.. This is my husband's last week of vacation from school. He'll be back to school starting Monday.

Weight Loss Pills Myths

When it comes to weight loss diets or pills, hubby knows a lot of them. He used a couple of products then and those were the only ones that he have proven to work. He doesn't use any of those anymore but he still reads reviews on the new ones that goes out in the market like Lipofuze. He said that most of this diet pills nowadays are not effective. Some products uses myths in order to attract consumers. So be sure to research on what you are buying.

Short-tempered me...

I woke up feeling alright this morning, but for some reason, my mood shifted into being short-tempered. Hubby said something about the stuff on the dining table so I cleaned it up and then straightened up the mess in our bedroom and the kids' bedroom too. I was an organize freak when I was single but now that I have two kids, it's hard to keep up. That's one reason that can make me blow up sometimes.

Affiliate Marketing Program

Do you participate in any affiliate marketing program? Ever since I started blogging, I discovered a lot of affiliate programs and participated to some of it. With some programs that I joined, I got lucky and got paid already but for some, no luck at all. But anyhow, when signing up for this kind of program online, just make sure that the business is legit and will give you potentials on really earning some money so that your effort won't be wasted.

Air-conditioning Service cost... way high!

Our AC unit was acting up for a couple of days so hubby called this heating and cooling place. The guys came up this morning and said that the freon needs to be charge. He also told us that our AC will only have a couple of years life so that would be a big expense argh! The freon is now charged and so our budget.. we got charged $191 for that... The freon only cost $70 but the service is $119 plus tax.. Whew, soooo darn expensive!

One of the shots I took when we were going up Marland Heights. The reflection of the sun light to the cloud was beautiful that day! Have a great weekend everyone!

Search Engine

I don't understand why for the past few days, the number of email subscribers on my four blogs has dropped drastically. Two of them came back up already and I am thankful for that because I think page ranking will be updated this month or next month and I don't want my blog's page rank to be affected by the drastic drop on subscriber. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I really want to learn how the search engine optimization because every time there is a change to the page rank, I have no clue what is going on. It is very hard to decipher how Google calculates it. The page views, cached content and the frequency of the visits on your blog. I think, this is why some companies are hiring some SEO expert to analyze what is good for their website. since I can't afford to do that, I will have to find it out myself lol.

Automotive Mobility Solutions

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Sometimes I laugh at my husband when he is fast forwarding his imagination about our lives. You know the things that will happen to our kids when they grow up and about our lives when we reach the age where we can no longer walk. Stuff like that makes me giggle all the time because, you can feel your partner/spouse's sincerity of his wants to grow old with you. One thing that he is dreadful is when both of us can no longer walk. I told him that if the budget will permit, we can still be mobile through buying the new and innovative mobility solutions.

I have read some interesting facts about mobility solution through the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association or popularly known as the NMEDA. You may now order a customized automotive transportation solution that are catered for people who have challenges with mobility like old people. One great advantage that you will get when you buy through NMEDA is that they conduct a thorough evaluation of what you really needs which means that they really care about the customers and not just their business.

With NMEDA, you are assured that all the products that you will get passed the Quality Assurance program, the only nationalized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry. NMEDA really sift through the dealers that will be listed on their website before they could be a member.

Dealers who participate to the QAP really possess high standard as they have to maintain certain rules and regulations. Imagine being able to enjoy your freedom of Independence through buying a safe and high quality wheelchair. That would just be the perfect thing that my husband and I need when we get too old to really walk. It would be easier t for the caregiver too if they need to transport a patient from one place to another.

How about you, do you have friends or family member that needs mobility solution? Try to visit the site through the links and learn more about this program. You may leave your thoughts about it here with your comment.

Nose-y!

We kept our dogs locked up inside the fence when we were painting the outside part of the fence. Champ kept sticking his nose at the bottom of the fence because he wanted to see what was going on outside. I took a picture of him (good thing, I always have the camera with me.. even when painting lol).

For the love of Art

Of all the things that I won't mind buying for my kids are coloring and other art stuff. They love to do artwork especially our daughter. I am glad that they got this trait from their Dad because I don't have such thing.
These were taken the day before mother's day. We went and visit my FIL and she got bored while we were talking to Dad so she asked hubby if they could color together.

Canada's Plan to change the World

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of SEO 5 Consulting. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of the colleagues I met over here told us that when she was attending college, she was being sponsored by a foreigner from the States. She was able to finish her college degree through the help of that couple who sponsored her education. When he came to the States, she made contact with the family that helped her out and they are friends until now.

Canada has a sponsorship program where you can sponsor a child that came from a poor country. This is a great move that Canada is doing because when you sponsor a child, you help to build a better world for them especially those who are less fortunate to have the things that we have. When I was still in my country, I thought that poverty there is worse but my husband told me that what he saw in some part of Africa is worse than the one in my home country.

Through sponsoring a child, we could help other people to have a clean shelter, dig wells, train teachers, empower girls, and a lot more. You can help Canada with their plan to change the world, visit Plan website and see how you can help with their great program.

Field Trips for Everyone

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Lunchables. All opinions are 100% mine.

Our four year old daughter will be attending school this August for the first time. She was unable to attend preschool for the past couple of years due to our military deployment to South Korea. Her father and I didn't mind because we really enjoy having her with us all of the time.

I read an interesting article the other day which stated that over 30,000 schools would eliminate field trips for the current school year. I was taken back a bit because I can recall how much I enjoyed our class field trips when I attended school. Those field trips were not only fun but they provided a great deal of information for young minds on the world around us. We Americans, especially the parents of school-age children, need to do what we can to ensure this traditional practice stays in our school system. Here's a way that we can keep field trips alive in our schools?

Field Trips For All is an awesome program sponsored by Lunchables Lunch Combinations to give a really deserving kids a chance to experience the hands-on learning that we were privileged to receive when we were their age. All you have to do is nominate a deserving classroom, from a school of your choice, and explain why you feel they deserve to win. Fifty deserving classrooms will be selected to receive an educationally inspiring field trip. Imagine the excitement of having your favorite classroom selected for such an awesome prize.

I feel that the Kindergarten class at St. Joseph the Worker School in Weirton, West Virginia should be selected. This is a small private school with limited funding. The economy has taken a bite out of most of these privately funded institutions which limits the program benefits received by the kids. This top-rated school consistently out-performs most of schools in the area. I feel the students, as well as the teachers, deserve to be rewarded for their sustained superior performance.

Crab Apple in Full Bloom

I promised to post some photos of the crab apple when it's in full bloom, so here it is.
It's so beautiful when the flowers starting to fall because4 when the wind blows, it looks like snow.
Here's a shot of the regular apple. It is pretty too when it's in full bloom. Right now, the crab apple is back to its normal color.. all green and the the regular apple is forming its fruits already.
Thanks a lot for dropping by my page folks. Please watch out for my give away on my main blog "Rose's Obstacles & Glories" and the new meme I will be hosting on my "Nostalgic Marveling" blog.

Clematis

Yesterday marked the first bloom of the clematis that I planted in front of our garage.
See the difference on the next set of photos? The first one is the one I took yesterday, while the other one was taken today - it has five blooms already.
What I like about this plant is that it comes back every year.
Gorgeous isn't it?
