Help your child be Math Confident

Math is one one of my favorite subjects in Elementary and High school but when I was in college and grad school, I didn't like it anymore... its too complicated lol. My husband is very good with Math and I guess Rylie inherit that from him. Math is one of Rylie's favorite thing to learn. She knows Addition well and last month, I introduce her to subtraction.

To make it easier for her. I wrote the numbers and I let her figure out the answer by making her draw some objects that represents the number and from there she could figure out the difference. She did really good on our first session.
Below is a photo and a parenting tip article from parent.com that could come in handy for you and your child.
Does your child like math just as much as Brussels sprouts? If math doesn’t come easy to your little one, there are ways to help without hiring a tutor. Browse through our selection of practical math tips to find ones perfectly suited for your young one’s tastes and interests. Soon, he might not even realize he just learned to add using apples from your fridge!

In the mood... for a shoot!

There are times that I want to take a picture of my son but he would just run away or hide his face. So when he is in the mood for a shoot, I don't waste my time lol. The other day, while I was busy with my online tasks, he climbed into my chair and was hugging me.. Then he said "take a picture of me Mommy!" I hurried up and grab my camera and take a snap. He moved so it was blurry.
Take two: I told him not to move.. and here it is..
Have a lovely Thursday everyone. It's exactly 1 am and I am still awake, trying to blog lol. But after this post, I am hitting the bed. Goodnyt!

Garden Gnomes: Who Took them?

I was taking some photos of my dianthus yesterday when I noticed that my two garden gnomes were gone. I was like "Where did my gnomes go?" I asked the kids if they take it even if I know that they won't play with it and they said no.
Yup, those were my garden gnomes that was stolen by whoever wants to beautify their yard. I took the above photo last week. I never thought that that would be the last picture of my garden with them.
I have several color of dianthus, I love them because not only they are gorgeous, they also comes back every year.

To the thief: I hope that your garden will look pretty with the gnomes that you stole from me.

Speaking of thief, my FIL got robbed by the people that he helped with and gave shelter and food for a couple of days. After asking for money, they still had the nerve to stole one of my FIL's precious collection.

What is wrong with people these days? You tried to help them and everything and still, its not enough and will still rob you. Goodness sakes! We're just glad that they did not hurt Dad. The thieves took advantage of Dad's generosity and kindness.

Short-tempered me...

I woke up feeling alright this morning, but for some reason, my mood shifted into being short-tempered. Hubby said something about the stuff on the dining table so I cleaned it up and then straightened up the mess in our bedroom and the kids' bedroom too. I was an organize freak when I was single but now that I have two kids, it's hard to keep up. That's one reason that can make me blow up sometimes.

Daisies

I took these shots when we went to Lowe's the other day. These daisies are extra bigger than the usual ones that I used to see and I like the colors too. I did not buy any though because the price was $19.99 for one plant. Geezzz... They're gorgeous but I won't pay for such amount..
Will visit you back folks after church. Have a great Sunday y'all!

Nose-y!

We kept our dogs locked up inside the fence when we were painting the outside part of the fence. Champ kept sticking his nose at the bottom of the fence because he wanted to see what was going on outside. I took a picture of him (good thing, I always have the camera with me.. even when painting lol).

For the love of Art

Of all the things that I won't mind buying for my kids are coloring and other art stuff. They love to do artwork especially our daughter. I am glad that they got this trait from their Dad because I don't have such thing.
These were taken the day before mother's day. We went and visit my FIL and she got bored while we were talking to Dad so she asked hubby if they could color together.

Crab Apple in Full Bloom

I promised to post some photos of the crab apple when it's in full bloom, so here it is.
It's so beautiful when the flowers starting to fall because4 when the wind blows, it looks like snow.
Here's a shot of the regular apple. It is pretty too when it's in full bloom. Right now, the crab apple is back to its normal color.. all green and the the regular apple is forming its fruits already.
Thanks a lot for dropping by my page folks. Please watch out for my give away on my main blog "Rose's Obstacles & Glories" and the new meme I will be hosting on my "Nostalgic Marveling" blog.

Clematis

Yesterday marked the first bloom of the clematis that I planted in front of our garage.
See the difference on the next set of photos? The first one is the one I took yesterday, while the other one was taken today - it has five blooms already.
What I like about this plant is that it comes back every year.
Gorgeous isn't it?

Happy Mother's Day Ma!

I asked one of my closest friends in the Philippines to pull a little surprise for Mama. I also told my youngest sister Mae to tell Mama to come over in Legazpi City to attend a conference for her. What Mama did not know is that we sent her some moolah and I also asked Ate Chay to buy some roses for her and take her out to eat.

Thank you very much Ate Chay for making all these possible. Thanks also for taking pictures, at least I saw my dear mother even in pictures.

I wasn't able to talk to her on the phone though even if I tried many times to cal, the signal was very poor.
Hey guys, why are you not smiling lol!
My mother is very shy so every time she'll go in school, she is always nervous.

Again, thank you so much Ate Chay for doing everything for me, luvya.
I hope that I somehow bring smile to my Mother's face even if I wasn't there to give her a hug. I miss and love you so much Ma! Happy mother's day to all the Moms!

Purple Flower

I don't know what kind of flower this is but I spotted this when we came back at the Vet office to pick up the doggies after their surgeries. Does anyone knows what the name of this flower is?

Garden Toolbox

My SIL Chris made me this gardening toolbox a couple of years ago. I am so glad because I can just put my tools in there whenever I am out doing my gardening job. She also made John a toolbox for his garage when we were remodeling our home.
Thanks a lot Chris!
