School Days

My burritos are not in school yet so for this week's theme for Mommy Moments, I decided to feature my two nieces who lost their father just two days ago. My brother's eldest daughter Bhim is only 10 years old and she is in her fourth grade in elementary. The second one, Yami is 9 years old, she is in third grade. My brother was so proud of them because they are both talented and smart. Both of his daughters are honor students, its so sad that he won't be able to see them grow up anymore.
Here's Mama with Yami and my brother with Bhim pinning the ribbons for this year's Graduation. Both of them were first honors.

This picture was taken before we left last March. My brother is holding his new born.Putting my self in my sister-in-laws shoes, I don't think I would be able to handle the situation. Especially that she has a small baby to take care of. This will be very hard for us, we have to support them because they do not have anything. My sister in law is very dependent to my brother so I don't know how she is going to cope up with this.

I would like to thank Mads Fe and Malou, Ate Beth, and Seiko for giving some financial support to the family. May God bless you guys for your generous hearts.

Thank you all so much for your comforting words, deep sympathy, and prayers for our family. Those encouraging words is lifting my spirit up, lighten up the burden we are experiencing right now.

  1. All the best to your orphaned nieces. (I'm teary-eyed here and I'm not the crying type) May your SIL find the strength to face life's storms.

  5. I don't know why but seeing your brother's pictures with his children made me cry. maybe because of the thought that he will never see them grow especially his new born. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know God has His purpose and He'll guide your brother's family. Again, our prayers are with you.

  6. Condolence again rose, I know you are still grieving for your brother, its really not easy if you lost someone special. I cannot imagine how your SIL handle this situation. Tuloy ba uwi ninyo sa inyo rose? Sana bigyan pa ng lakas ang SIL mo at mama mo para matanggap ang pagkawala ng brother mo, at ikaw rin lakasan mo pa sarili mo rose, I know it will take a while to accept all that.

  23. Let's give another meaning to the word death...

If you are a Christian, you must rather think death as a gateway or a key to God's unemnding embrace... where there's no more pains, sufferings and nothing but joys!!

    Do not be astounded...
for I believe that your departed ones are very happy now to the place where they belonged, Heaven! :)
